Online Learning Opens Doors for Michigan Students

Stories & Spotlights
National online learning day

National Online Learning Day is a special time to celebrate how online school can help students in Michigan and beyond. At Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA), we are proud to offer new ways of learning that best meet each student’s needs.

In recent years, more families have looked for new school choices to help their children learn best. A recent national survey showed that more than half of parents looked into new school choices last year, and nearly one out of three looked at full-time online school.

MVCA recognizes that a traditional learning setting may not be where some students thrive, which is where our team comes in. We often hear that families choose to enroll in online school because they want a safe, friendly place where their children can learn at their own speed and reach their full potential.

Empowering Student Success

Online learning offers flexibility for students while providing built-in accommodations, such as the ability to take breaks during class or rewatch a lesson to better understand a homework assignment. Students also receive one-on-one support to help them stay on track.

At MVCA, our state-certified teachers and staff offer personalized guidance and collaborate closely with families to help each student thrive. We have a mission-driven approach to education that empowers our diverse student body to succeed.

Fostering Safe Spaces

When learners feel safe in their learning environment, they can dedicate their attention to learning. A sense of safety has a direct impact on students’ mental health and academic performance. Being part of a welcoming community like MVCA and learning from home when there is internet access can make all the difference for students who faced challenges such as bullying.

Creating Opportunities for a Bright Future

In our online classes, students learn in small groups, do fun projects, and play educational games that help them solve problems together. Online schools like MVCA help students discover their strengths and guide them to help meet their goals. From helping students catch up on credits to offering college classes in high school, MVCA meets every student’s needs.

If your family is interested in exploring a new way to do school, there is still time to enroll for this academic year! Learn more about our enrollment options.
